Hi Debbie! Thanks so much for all the kind words, I truly appreciate them. One of the things I enjoy about Art is sharing it. I'm finding working in mosaic to be extremely fulfilling artistically. It's as though everything I've ever learned is realized in this art form and now I can truly express what I want to "say." Later this spring I'm going to teach a 2-day workshop in mosaic for beginners...mosaic as fine art expression not "craft." There is nothing wrong with using mosaic as a technique for a picture frame or the top of a jewelry box, but mosaic can be so much more and that's what I hope to communicate in my workshop. I've taught color, beginning acrylics, colored pencil and watercolor but this will be my first time out teaching mosaic. - Linda

Linda,

I am so happy to have found your blog! First off, I love your mosaic mandalas. Your photography is beautiful as well.

I began mosaic art several years ago. I just jumped right in. I've never been particularly thrilled with what I've made, other than the second mosaic I ever did (a frame).

I've always told myself that I was going to take a color theory class, a design class and maybe a drawing class to give myself the skills needed to make a truly beautiful mosaic. Well, I haven't done that yet!

That's why I am happy to have found you. I love the instruction you give. It's really going to help me. I took a few years off from doing anything artistic and am itching to get back to it. However, this time I am going to do it right. I'm going to start from the beginning, learning and growing and eventually finding my voice. Your blog is going to help me a lot. Thank you!

Mandalas have always fascinated me and I've often thought about creating them in mosaic form. I found your blog by googling (yes, I love how that as become a verb!) "mandala mosaics".

I have much to learn.
